This Thanksgiving Alphabetical Order Worksheet takes a skill that usually stops at the first letter and pushes it exactly as far as third grade needs it to go. Students work through three labeled sets of holiday words, and each set makes them read one letter deeper than the set before: the words in Set 1 separate at the second letter, Set 2 at the third, and Set 3 at the fourth. That progression is the whole lesson, because a student who can only sort by first letters is stuck the moment a dictionary hands them four words that all begin with the same three.
The Thanksgiving Alphabetical Order Worksheet carries twelve holiday words across the page, from parade and pilgrim to cabbage, casserole, grapes and grateful.
