Description
Nouns are the naming words in every sentence, and first graders use them all day long. This Using Nouns Worksheet helps students find nouns and then put them to work, so they learn that a noun names a person, place or thing and see how nouns make a sentence make sense.
The page has two short parts. In the first part, students look at five pairs of words and circle the noun in each pair, choosing between a naming word like boat, shoe, clock, frog or apple and a describing or action word. In the second part, students read four simple sentences and write the missing noun from a word box of bucket, kitten, pillow and puzzle. Each sentence has only one noun that makes sense, so children must read carefully before they write. Use it as a 1st grade nouns worksheet for grammar lessons, literacy centers, morning work or homework. An answer key is included for quick checking.
