Description
Blending the letters n and t at the end of a word is one of the first big steps a young reader takes past simple three-letter words, and the Brent and Brant NT Phonics Stories Reading Comprehension Worksheet turns that sound into a whole short story. Words such as went, tent, plant, present, count and front come back again and again inside a story about two friends at a plant sale, so children meet the -nt blend in real sentences instead of on an isolated word list. Reading the blend in context is what moves it from something a child sounds out to something a child simply knows.
The worksheet works as a read-then-answer set. On the first page students read the illustrated story and hunt for every dark -nt word in the passage. On the second page they answer five multiple-choice comprehension questions drawn from across the whole story, filling in one bubble for each. The last page is a complete answer key.
