Description
Capital letters do a real job in writing. They show a reader where a sentence begins, and they mark the words that name one particular person, place, day, month, or holiday. This capitalization errors worksheet gives 2nd grade students a clear, focused way to find the words that are missing their capital letters and to write those words the correct way.
On this page, students read four short sentences printed entirely in lower case. A worked example at the top models the whole task first, and then every sentence has a full writing line underneath it, so students rewrite the sentence from beginning to end instead of only marking a letter. A second section gives four single words to fix on their own lines, so the rule is practiced inside a sentence and on its own. Use this 2nd grade capitalization worksheet as morning work, as a quick check after a grammar lesson, or as review before a writing unit.
