Finding elapsed time is one of the most useful math skills a third grader can learn, and this how much time passed to the quarter hour worksheet gives students focused practice with it. Children read a start time and an end time on analog clocks, then figure out how many hours and minutes passed between them. Every time on the page falls on a quarter hour, so students practice counting forward by 15-minute jumps: quarter past, half past, quarter to, and o’clock.
The worksheet opens with four clock cards. Each card shows a start clock and an end clock with an arrow between them, and students write the elapsed time in two answer boxes labeled hours and minutes.
