Using this Purpose Worksheet, students tell why the author wrote any non-fiction text by using the question to guide their thinking.
Understanding the reason why an author wrote a text supports your students’ comprehension as they read. This worksheet gives them the opportunity to explain the reason why an author writes.
Choose a nonfiction text to read. Think about what the passage is about and why the author wrote it.
