Good readers look for the point an author is making and the reasons the author gives to back it up. This support the point worksheet helps students practice that skill with a short, friendly article about why every family should recycle at home.
This 3rd grade reading worksheet begins with a one-page informational passage and a colorful picture of a home recycling spot. The author states a clear point and then gives three reasons: recycling saves trees, keeps parks and beaches clean, and saves space in landfills. On the next page, students answer four multiple-choice questions about the author’s point, the order of the reasons, and why certain details are included.
