How to teach Point of View
Using Point of View Activity, students identify who is telling the story at various points in a text.
A character’s dialogue and actions can give your students a lot of information about what they are thinking and feelings. This activity will help your students to learn more about the characters and author’s points of view on a topic.
Have one student read a grade level book out loud while the other students hold up who is telling the story at different parts of the text.

Use this Author’s Purpose Activity as an additional resource for your students.
Introduce this activity by having students share what they know about a character from a story you recently read in class. Next, students share different ways that they learn about a character. Examples could be pictures, dialogue, what the author tells us, etc. Then, students complete the activity independently or with a partner. Finally, students share what they have learned about the characters they read about.
