How to teach Consonants
Using the Seashells by the Seashore Consonant Digraphs Activity, students practice listening for and identifying initial and ending digraphs by collecting seashells into digraph buckets.
Being able to identify the consonants helps students read and write words. This activity gives them practice using common words that they will encounter in their reading.
Say the name of the picture on the seashell and identify the digraph sound that you hear. If the seashell matches any of your digraph buckets, collect the shell and place it on the bucket. Then, complete the worksheets provided.
