How to teach Shades of Meaning
Using the Shades of Meaning Activity, read the task cards and choose the best word to fill in the blank. Use the number on each umbrella to complete the Shades of Meaning – Fill in the Blank worksheet to show your answers.
Sometimes, words have different shades of meaning to help tell how we are feeling or what we are thinking.
Extension Activity – Look at the Shades of Meaning raindrops. Put the raindrops into piles based on the matching numbers. Then, sort the raindrops by shades of meaning from weakest to strongest. Complete the Shades of Meaning – Sorting Raindrops worksheet.
