Description
Fraction word problems are where fractions stop being marks on a page and start describing something a child can picture — a loaf shared at two meals, a rope cut shorter, a class split into readers and everyone else. The four problems cover the moves fourth grade actually asks for: adding two fractions with like denominators, subtracting them, finding a fraction of a whole set, and a two-step problem where the answer is what is left over. There are three reasons this resource helps children with fractions.
