Description
The tr blend hides in plain sight. Children who can read train and tree on a picture card still slide right past them inside a sentence, and that is where reading actually happens. This TR Blends Worksheet moves the blend off the flash card and into running text, so second graders have to hunt for it the way they will every day.
Five sentences sit under the directions. Students read each one, circle every word that begins with tr, and then copy those words onto the lines below. The number of tr words changes from sentence to sentence, so no one can settle into a pattern, and each sentence is packed with other t words to slow a guesser down. Copying the words afterwards locks the spelling in. A complete answer key is included.
