Description
The names of the days are proper nouns, so they take a capital letter wherever they sit in a sentence. Children learn the rule quickly and drop it just as quickly, because a day name almost never opens the sentence — it usually lands at the very end, after the reader has stopped watching for capitals. This Capital Letters Days Sentences Worksheet puts the day in that end position every single time, so a student has to notice it on purpose instead of being reminded by where it sits in the line.
The page opens with a worked example, then gives four sentences that each hide one lower-case day. The student finds it and rewrites it correctly on the wide line beside the sentence. Two calendar clues follow — the day right after Thursday and the day right before Monday — so the child supplies the day name from memory and still has to capitalize it. All seven days appear across the sheet, each one used exactly once, and the answer key on the second page shows every correction.
