Description
Month names are proper nouns, which is why they take a capital letter no matter where they land in a sentence. That rule is easy to state and easy to forget, because a month rarely starts the sentence — it usually sits at the end, exactly where a second grader has stopped thinking about capitals. This Capital Letters Months Sentences Worksheet puts the month in that end position every time, so the child has to notice it rather than being reminded by its place in the line.
The page opens with a worked example, then gives six sentences that each hide one lower-case month. The student finds it and rewrites it correctly on the line beside the sentence. Three calendar clues follow — the first month of the year, the month after August, the last month — so the child supplies the month name themselves and still has to capitalize it. Nine different months appear across the page, and no month is used twice.
