Rhyming words share the same ending sound, like cake and snake. Hearing and seeing rhymes helps young readers notice word patterns, which makes new words easier to read and spell. This Coloring Rhyming Words Worksheet turns rhyme practice into a bright color-by-rhyme activity.
At the top of the page, four key cards show a picture, a key word and a color: cake is red, boat is blue, tree is green and ring is yellow. Below them are twelve word bubbles. Children read each word, find the key word it rhymes with, and color the bubble to match. Use it in a phonics center, for morning work, as homework or as a quick check after a rhyming lesson.
