Use this Multiplying By Tens Activity as an additional resource for your students.
Introduce by showing students 3 x 1= 3 and 3 x 10= 30. Next, students share what they notice about the two equations. Challenge students to figure out the product of 3 x 100. Then, students complete the worksheet individually or with a partner. Finally, students create their own multiplication equations showing multiplying by 10s. Once finished, challenge your students to write explanations of how they can figure out the pattern. This activity is a great addition to your math centers or early finishers activities.
