Syllable Snowballs Activity

Syllable Snowballs Activity

How to teach Syllables

Using Syllable Snowballs Activity, students practice reading words and identifying the number of syllables.

Being able to determine the syllables in a word helps your readers be able to sound out unfamiliar words. This activity gives your students practice with coming up with their own multi-syllabic words.

Read each word aloud, decide if it has 1, 2, or 3 syllables. Next, place it on the correct sorting page. Then, complete one of the worksheets provided.
