About This Worksheet
Students pick a text with three paragraphs and read it. First they write the title and the topic of the text. Next, they use the numbered lines to tell what paragraph 1, paragraph 2, and paragraph 3 are mostly about. Last, they combine those notes into the main idea of the whole text. Because every child brings a different text, every response is the student’s own, so the sheet is a single open-ended page that can be used again and again.
