Description
Comic strips are one of the friendliest ways to teach narrative writing, because the story has to move forward in every box. This Speech Bubbles Comic Strip Worksheet gives students four large panels and four ready-made speech bubbles, so the drawing and the writing happen side by side. Students plan a beginning, a middle, and an end, and then decide what their characters actually say out loud.
Using this comic strip writing worksheet, students name their comic on the title line, sketch each scene in order, and fill the speech bubbles with dialogue. Every panel is numbered, so students practice sequencing while they draw, and the finished page becomes a piece of writing they genuinely want to read aloud to a partner. Because the story belongs to the student, answers vary from child to child.
