How to teach Citing Evidence
Using this Supporting an Opinion Worksheet, students read a book about a specific topic to cite evidence from the text to support their opinion.
Being able to share your opinion with facts to back it up is important skill for your students to learn. This worksheet will give your students a structured opportunity to learn how to research their ideas to gather information.
Students choose a topic. Next, they write an opinion statement about the topic. Then, students find text evidence to support their ideas.
