Description
A consonant digraph is two letters that team up to spell one single sound, and the digraph lists worksheet gives second graders a focused way to hear, spell, and collect those teams. Digraphs like sh, ch, th, wh, ph, and tch appear in hundreds of everyday words, so a reader who cannot decode them stalls on words they already say out loud every day. This printable activity takes the guesswork out of that step by pairing each digraph with a picture the child can name and a sentence the child can read.
Students begin with six picture cards. They say the name of each picture, listen for the two letters that make one sound, and write the missing digraph on the line to finish the word. Then they move to four sentences and supply the missing digraph inside a real word in context, which is where the skill actually has to work. The digraph appears at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end of words across the page, so children practice hunting for the sound wherever it hides rather than only at the start.
