Description
The fr blend is quick to say and easy to miss. A child who reads frog or fruit on a flash card will often slide right past the same word inside a sentence, and a sentence is where reading actually happens. This FR Blends Worksheet lifts the blend off the card and drops it into running text, so second graders have to go hunting for it.
Five sentences sit under the directions. Students read each one, circle every word that begins with fr, then copy those words onto the six lines underneath. The count shifts from sentence to sentence — one sentence hides two fr words — so nobody can settle into a rhythm, and every sentence carries another f word (find, fly, field, funny, family) to slow a guesser down. Writing each word after circling it locks the spelling in. A complete answer key is included.
