Silent letters are letters we see in a word but never say, like the k in knee or the b in thumb. This missing silent letters worksheet helps 2nd grade students notice these tricky spellings and remember them. Common patterns such as kn, wr, and mb show up in everyday words, so learning to spot the quiet letter makes children stronger spellers and more confident readers.
In Part A, students read six words that are each missing one silent letter and write the k, w, or b that finishes the word. In Part B, they choose a word from the Word Bank to complete four short sentences, using silent letter words in context.
