Using Text Features Activity, studentsidentify text features in the books they are reading to gather information about what they will read.
Being aware of text features is an important step for your students. This activity will teach them about the most prominent text features that they will find in their books.
Choose a few books and then use the activity cards as bookmarks to label text features.

Use this Book Parts Worksheet as an additional resource for your students.
Introduce this activity by showing your students a book and ask about the different parts of a book. Next, ask why parts of the book are important. Then, students complete the activity independently or with a partner. Finally, students look for text features in their own books.
