Read the passage. Next, determine the main topic of the text. Then, determine the focus of each paragraph.

Introduce this worksheet by reading a short book. Next, ask students what the book was about and how they know. Then, have students complete the worksheet independently or with a partner. Finally, challenge students to share the main idea of the book by completing the sentence starter “This book is about..” using only 5 words!
