Description
Counting money is a real-life math skill that kids use every time they empty a piggy bank, buy a snack, or save up for something special. This Counting Money Worksheet gives third graders practice finding the total value of dollar bills, quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies inside short, friendly word problems.
In Part A, students read four money word problems. Each one lists a mix of bills and coins, and children show their work in the box and write the total on the answer line, using the dollar sign and decimal point. In Part B, students solve a two-step problem that asks whether a child has enough money to buy a book and, if not, how much more is needed. They answer with numbers and words to explain their thinking. A complete answer key is included on the second page.
