How to teach Letter Sounds
Using RF.K.3 Common Core Activity, students match pictures to the appropriate letter with the same beginning letter sound.
Your students need lots of practice when first learning letter sounds. This activity gives them practice using familiar objects to determine letter sounds.
Students match the beginning sound of each picture to each letter card. Each letter will have 2 pictures. This activity will build one to one letter sound correspondence.

Use this Letter Roll Beginning Sounds Activity as an additional resource for your students.
Introduce this activity by listening to the Have Fun Teaching Alphabet Song. Then, distribute materials to students to practice matching pictures to the appropriate beginning letter sound. Challenge students to add more objects that have same letter sound.
