The EY IE Digraphs Worksheet gives 2nd Grade readers focused practice with two vowel teams that both spell the long E sound. Words like monkey, chief, field, and honey look simple until a student has to decide which two letters finish them, and that decision is exactly where spelling breaks down. This ey ie digraphs worksheet slows the choice down, puts it in front of the student six times in isolation and four more times inside a real sentence, and gives the teacher a clean record of who has the pattern and who is still guessing.
Part A prints six familiar words with the digraph removed, so the student reads what is left, says the whole word, and writes ey or ie on the line. Part B moves the same skill into context: four sentences each hide their digraph inside one word, so the student has to use meaning as well as sound. Print the page, hand it out, and work Part A together before letting students finish Part B on their own. The answer key on the last page makes grading immediate.
