Using Retelling Stories Activity,students put the Event Cards in the correct order to retell the story to build summarizing skills.
Being able determine the summarize text that you are reading helps your students understand what they have read. This activity will help your student to make sure that they retell a full story.
Put the Event Cards in the correct order. Read the story. Then, use the writing paper to retell what happened.

Introduce this activity by reading a short book. Next, students share what happened first, next, then, and finally. Then, have students complete the activity independently or with a partner. Finally, students share their summary of their text. Once finished, students continue practicing reading their own texts and summarizing.
