How to teach Physical Science
Using Sink or Float Activity, students sort the picture onto the sink or float mat to identify objects that sink and float.
Your students need to know what objects sink and float in case they throw something in the pool, ocean, or pond. This activity helps them show that they know what types of objects sink and float.
Select a picture card and determine whether you think the object will sink or float. Sort the picture onto the sink or float mat. After sorting, experiment with some of the objects in your classroom. Use one of the worksheets to make predictions and test whether an object will sink or float.
