This technology worksheet helps students understand that technology is any tool people build to solve a problem. Third graders often think technology means only screens, so this page deliberately mixes a toaster, a bike, a mailbox and a phone. Sorting those tools by the job each one does turns a fuzzy word into a clear science idea students can explain in their own words.
On this technology worksheet, students read a word box of twelve familiar tools and write each one under the job it performs: Cook Food, Go Places, or Send Messages. Every word belongs to exactly one column, so the sort can be checked quickly and discussed with confidence. Below the chart, three clues describe machines that are not in the box, and students write the name of each one on the line. An answer key is included on the second page.
