How to teach Speaking and Listening
Using this Total Recall Activity, students share stories about different experiences from their lives to build their speaking and listening skills.
Being able to describe people, places, and ideas is important for your students to be clear communicators. This activity will give your students the opportunity to practice to improve their communication skills.
Choose an Experience Card. Recall information about the topic. Then, answer the questions. Use the information to write stories.

Use this SL.K.6 Kindergarten Common Core Activity as an additional resource for your students.
Introduce this activity by students sharing polite ways to engage in a conversation with someone. Next, students review the Small Group Discussion Worksheet and explain why each point is important when having a discussion. Then, students engage in a discussion with their classmates. Finally, students review the Small Group checklist and self-evaluate their participation in the discussion.
