Description
The Talking to Peers Assessment Worksheet gives teachers one page for recording three peer writing conferences. First graders are expected to respond to questions and suggestions from a partner and then add details to strengthen their writing, and that standard is hard to grade from a finished draft alone. It shows up in the conversation: who the writer met with, whether they listened, whether they answered, and what they went back and changed. This printable form gives you a place to write all four down while you watch.
Each card on the Talking to Peers Assessment Worksheet holds one conference. Fill in the writer, the date and the writing topic, then check the four behaviors as you see them: met with a writing partner, listened to the partner’s questions, answered the questions, and added details to the draft. Two ruled lines underneath give you room to note what the writer actually changed, which is the part you will want when you conference with that child again or talk with a family at conferences.
