Description
How to teach Speaking and Listening
Using this Asking and Answering Questions Activity, students participate in collaborative conversations with diverse partners about topics and texts with peers and adults in small and larger groups.
Being able to describe people, places, and ideas is important for your students to be clear communicators. This activity will give your students the opportunity to practice to improve their communication skills.
Distribute the Speaker and Listener cards to each student. The Speaker chooses a picture card and tells the listeners everything they know about
that item. The Listeners listen to the Speaker and ask questions to gather more information about the topic. Listeners can use the questions provided or make up their own.

Introduce this activity by students sharing polite ways to engage in a conversation with someone.
