How to teach Classification

Using this Size Classification Worksheet, students sort different types of objects into three categories based on size.

Being able to classify objects helps students to find groupings within objects. It helps their brain organize objects.

Students look at the pictures on page 2. Next, think about each picture’s size. Then, compare the pictures sizes’ to each other. Finally, cut out the pictures and glue them into the proper columns below.

Introduce this worksheet by showing students a bunch of different objects. Ask them different ways that they could organize these into groups. Once students are finished, challenge students to add more objects to each category.
